Uzbekistan's Oil And Gas Company Plans To Buy Additional Russian Oil


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 2. The Oil and Gas Company of Uzbekistan, "Saneg," aims to import around 550,000 tons of Russian oil by the end of the year, Trend reports.

The data of the analytical company Argus shows that, this marks an increase of 395,700 tons compared to the 154,300 tons imported throughout 2023.

Additionally, combined shipments of crude oil from "Gazprom Neft" to the Fergana refinery (owned by "Saneg") amounted to 132,900 tons from January through May, up from 48,700 tons during the same period last year.

The total trade turnover of oil, petroleum products, and similar materials in Uzbekistan reached $1.8 billion from January through August 2024, reflecting an 80 percent increase compared to $1.1 billion in the same period of the previous year.

Oil exports, petroleum products, and similar materials from Uzbekistan accounted for $409.4 million, while imports reached $1.4 billion.
