Tajikistan has achieved an average annual economic growth rate of 7.5 percent, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan Ilhom Abdurahmon said at an event on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Tajikistan's independence, Trend reports.

“Over the past 23 years, due to consistent measures to restore the real sector of the country's economy, Tajikistan has been able to achieve an average annual economic growth rate of 7.5 percent,” he said.

According to the ambassador, state budget revenues have increased more than 100 times per capita during this period.

“If in 1994 the average life expectancy of the country's residents was within 70 years, nowadays the average life expectancy of citizens is 76 years. The number of registered deaths has decreased by two times,” Abdurahmon said.

The ambassador said that the country's population has grown from 5.5 million to 10.2 million during this period.
