Tajikistan's Defense Ministry Takes Over Control Of Two Airports


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 26. Two airports in Tajikistan have been transferred from local authorities to the Ministry of Defense, Trend reports.

According to the document, the airports are located in the regions of Muminabad and Jaloliddin Balkhi.

With this latest decree, the total number of local airports under the Ministry of Defense's jurisdiction has reached 21. All these airports will be renovated using funds collected from paid military services.

In August of the previous year, the government issued a decree transferring 18 airports to the Ministry of Defense. Additionally, in December 2021, another decree moved one more local airport from municipal ownership to the defense ministry's control.
