Tajikistan Multiplies Oil Product Imports From Russia


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 28. Tajikistan increased imports of oil products from Russia by 65,600 tons, or 14.3 percent, in the first half of 2024, Trend reports.

According to the country's Ministry of energy and Water Resources, Tajikistan imported 524,200 tons of oil products and liquefied gas from Russia. This includes 236,600 tons of motor gasoline, 223,200 tons of diesel fuel, 22,700 tons of jet fuel, 62,000 tons of fuel oil, 27,900 tons of bitumen, 5,400 tons of lubricants, and 8,200 tons of liquefied gas.

Overall, Tajikistan imported 783,800 tons of oil products and liquefied gas in the first half of the year, an increase of 73,500 tons, or 10.3 percent, compared to the same period in 2023.

In 2023, Tajikistan imported 1.413 million tons of oil products, an increase of 164,200 tons from 2022. Of these imports, 63.3 percent were sourced from Russia, 25.9 percent from Kazakhstan, 7.4 percent from Uzbekistan, 2 percent from Turkmenistan, 0.7 percent from Belarus, and 0.7 percent from other countries.
