Special Transport Service Clears Over 1800 Hectares Of Mines In Week


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Demining groups of the State Special transport Service examined and cleared explosive objects in an area of 1,805.50 hectares, with the largest number of explosive devices removed in the Kherson region.

The press service reported this on facebook , Ukrinform reports.

“Over the week of July 14-21, the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations' demining teams removed and neutralized 827 explosive items. The area of 1,805.50 hectares was cleared of mines and checked. Most of the explosive items were found in the Kherson region - 424,” the statement said.

Since the beginning of Russia's large-scale aggression, units of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations have discovered, seized and defused 178,640 explosive devices. The area of 116,303.72 hectares, equal to the area of three Kharkiv cities or five Odesa cities, has been cleared of mines.

In particular, 909.23 km of roads, 25.51 hectares of water area, 2,611.94 km of railways, 492.81 km of power lines, 66.91 km of gas pipelines, 374.29 hectares of residential areas, and 111,954.94 hectares of agricultural land were checked.

As reported, the Defense Ministry's demining units cleared 4,177.66 hectares of terrain and 4,128.94 hectares of farmland from explosive devices over the past week.
