MSMEDA Collaborates With Spanish AECID To Boost Craft Clusters: Rahmi

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) emphasised its dedication to supporting small and micro enterprises involved in traditional arts. Focusing on Egypt's renowned craft clusters, spread across various governorates, MSMEDA aims to preserve the country's rich cultural heritage. These clusters produce sought-after artistic works globally.

Basil Rahmi, CEO of MSMEDA, highlighted the agency's collaboration with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). Together, they implement a comprehensive vision to advance craft clusters. This partnership includes training, technical support, funding for projects, and assistance in marketing products domestically and internationally.

Currently, MSMEDA collaborates with AECID and the Red Sea governorate to organise the“Egyptian Treasures” Exhibition for handicrafts in Hurghada. Running until 15 July, the exhibition features 40 exhibitors showcasing traditional arts from different Egyptian governorates, including Sinai, Matrouh, Aswan, Fayoum, New Valley, Qena, Sohag, and the Red Sea. It aims to create new markets for local artisans and provide direct sales opportunities.

The exhibition also supports women in Upper Egypt by enhancing their capabilities and developing productive clusters. Visitors can explore needlework, hand embroidery, linens, palm products, pottery, glasswork, copper crafts, leather, alabaster, and other distinctive Egyptian creations from craft clusters across the country.

The goal is to promote Egyptian craft clusters and products to tourists visiting Hurghada.
