The government of India has completed plans for two significant industrial development projects in Andhra Pradesh, with a combined investment of Rs 5,367 crores, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Commerce and industry on Thursday.

The projects, overseen by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), are set to establish advanced infrastructure in the Orvakal Industrial Area of Kurnool district and the Kopparthy Industrial Area in YSR district.

These locations were chosen for their strategic proximity to major transportation arteries, including highways, railway lines, and seaports.

A key objective of these initiatives is to foster socio-economic growth and create substantial employment opportunities in the region.

The projects were reviewed during a meeting on June 21, chaired by Rajeev Singh Thakur, Additional Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

The ministry reported that all projects were assessed for their adherence to integrated planning principles and alignment with the PM Gati Shakti national master plan.

The evaluation process emphasized potential socio-economic benefits, enhanced connectivity, reduced transportation costs, and overall efficiency improvements.

These developments represent a significant step in the government's efforts to boost industrial growth and economic development in Andhra Pradesh.
