Arab League Renews Warning Over Spillover Of Israeli War Into Lebanon


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Arab League has warned that Lebanon would face dangerous challenges threatening its security and stability if the Israeli war metastasized to the southern borders.
In a statement following the visit of Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki to Lebanon, Arab League reiterated its solidarity with Lebanon and its people due to the threats posed by Israel and escalation in the southern Lebanon.
During the visit and meetings, he held, Zaki discussed the escalation in the southern Lebanon and the feeling of the Lebanese presidency that spanned over 19 months, stressing the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibility to stop the brutal war on the Gaza Strip. He added that the only way to curb the current escalation in the southern Lebanon is full ceasefire.
Additionally, Arab League stressed the importance of giving the constitutional track a chance to elect the President of Lebanon, affirming that it is ready to help Lebanon given the perilous challenges facing the country at the political and field levels.
