(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. European Parliamentmember Javier Nart, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, visited Shushacity on May 15, Trend reports, referring to the AzerbaijaniParliament.
The European Parliament member who arrived in Shusha city wasinformed about the history of the city, its condition during theoccupation, construction works carried out in Shusha under thedirect control of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan IlhamAliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, restoration ofhistorical monuments in the city, planned measures, and the and thebeginning of the process of returning residents to their nativecity.
Javier Nart visited the administrative building of therepresentative office, the town square, the Vagif Mausoleum, JidirDuzu, and the fortress walls of the city. He was informed thatheroic servicemen of the Azerbaijani army liberated Shusha fromoccupation at the cost of their lives and blood. Nowadays, JidirDuzu, as before the occupation, has become a place of grandioseevents.
The European Parliament member was accompanied by the head ofthe delegation of the European Union-Azerbaijan ParliamentaryCooperation Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, TuralGanjaliyev, and other officials.
