(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 30. If Israel carriesout a military operation in Rafah, it will be a dangerousescalation of the Middle East conflict and will have seriousconsequences for the entire region, UN Secretary-General AntonioGuterres, Trend reports.
He said hostilities in Rafah would be an unbearable escalationthat would result in the deaths of thousands of civilians and thedisplacement of hundreds of thousands of people.
"The consequences for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip will bedevastating. I urge everyone with influence over Israel to doeverything they can to prevent this from happening," Guterresnoted.
