Expanding Hotel Industry Horizons In Azerbaijan Fosters Unification Of Standards - AHA

Expanding hotelindustry horizons in Azerbaijan fosters unification of standards,Chairman of the Azerbaijan Hotel Association (AHA) Board EldarAlimuradov said during panel discussions within the 1st meeting ofhigher education institutions specializing in tourism educationwithin the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC),Trend reports.

"The economic impact of the tourism industry on Azerbaijan is ofgreat importance, particularly felt in the regions. In some citiesof the country, hotels and travel agencies are the main employers,creating numerous job opportunities and stimulating the localeconomy.

This is especially significant for an industry whose influencecontinues to grow and spread across the country. It's expected thatin the future, this will lead to an even greater positive effectnot only in the economic but also in the social aspects ofAzerbaijan's development," he noted.

According to him, knowledge exchange is not just interaction butalso collaboration within the industry.

"Baku has remained a center for the development of uniqueskills, knowledge, and technologies For many years. However, we nowobserve a significant shift - professionals are spreading theirexpertise beyond the capital, sharing knowledge across the country expansion of horizons contributes to standardization in theindustry.

Knowledge exchange allows us to enrich ourselves with newinsights and opinions, which in turn positively impacts the levelof standards in all aspects of our activities, whether it beeducation, service, or opportunities in the hotel industry," headded.

The Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was established in1992 with the active support of Türkiye and the permanentinternational secretariat of the organization is located inIstanbul. BSEC was established to promote cooperation, peace,stability, and prosperity in the Black Sea region.

Baku hosts the first meeting of BSEC tourism higher educationinstitutions to discuss cooperation, perspectives and challenges inthe field of tourism education.

The meeting is attended by official representatives of statesand tourism educational institutions from 11 member countries ofthe Organization, including Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Russia, Albania,Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine, aswell as representatives of the UN World Tourism Organization.
