Turkmenistan And OSCE PA Discuss Prospects For Dev't Of Inter-Parliamentary Co-Op


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 6. Turkmenistanand the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security andCo-operation in Europe (OSCE) discussed prospects for thedevelopment of inter-parliamentary cooperation, Trend reports.

According to an official source, these issues were discussedduring a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs ofTurkmenistan Myakhri Byashimova and a delegation of the OSCEParliamentary Assembly for Central Asia headed by SpecialRepresentative Farah Karimi.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the state andprospects for further development of inter-parliamentarycooperation, which is an important component of interstate dialogueon a bilateral and multilateral basis, primarily within theframework of international organizations and structures.

To note, the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE (OSCE PA) is aninstitution of the organization for security and cooperation inEurope. The primary task of the 323-member Assembly is tofacilitate inter-parliamentary dialogue, an important aspect of theoverall effort to meet the challenges of democracy throughout theOSCE area.
