Pickme Denies Claims Of Major Data Breach

PickMe, a Sri Lankan taxi hailing and delivery service, has denied allegations of a major data breach.
According to reports, PickMe data including around 1.8 million emails, 2.8 million unique phone numbers, and around 1.4 million hashed passwords and other sensitive information such as credit card details had been leaked.
“We want to address recent allegations of a data breach. We categorically deny these claims and assure our commitment to data security. We never store credit card info – it's tokenized for safety. We've upgraded to SMS OTP login for enhanced security,” PickMe said.
PickMe also said that it has taken swift actions to investigate the allegations thoroughly, in line with its rigorous data protection measures.
The company says it remains dedicated to safeguarding public data. (Colombo Gazette)
