(MENAFN- IANS) Mumbai, Oct 2 (IANS) Aarush Srivastav, known for the portrayal of the negative role of Raksham Dalmiya in the drama 'Saavi Ki Savaari' has opened up on the importance of voicing out against bullying. October 2 is 'World Day of Bullying Prevention'.
Talking about the same, he said: "Bullying has been a growing problem especially in past years. While some consider hazing and the abuse to be a typical part of society, people are found to have fallen into depression and the violence has led officials to start taking a hard, zero-tolerance stance on bullying."
Aarush narrated an incident when he was trolled for playing negative roles.
He continued, "I enjoy essaying negative roles and this doesn't go great with my audience I feel. They bully me for being bad on screen. Earlier, I took it as a compliment that I was doing good work as a villain."
“But later when I spotted people getting personal, it was high time to get it over with. Such experiences are not at all delightful,” he shared.
Aarush has featured in shows like 'Bekaaboo', 'Naagin', 'Udaariyaan', 'Pavitra Rishta' among others urged to voice out against bullying.
He said: "Taking a stand against bullying is, in part, an act of vigilance that starts at home. Think about the behaviors you engage in and the light-hearted teasing you do with your co-workers, mates, and friends. It is possible that what we may see as harmless, is in fact perceived as a damaging and malicious act."
“If we observe bullying going on around us, we need to stand up and tell the offender to stop and be a champion for the person being bullied. We need to spread information about what can happen as a result of bullying and be sure to really listen to people and friends if they're complaining about how they're treated in society,” shared Aarush.
He concluded:“Bullying is a serious problem, and World Day of Bullying Prevention is our opportunity to take a stand against it and stomp it out.”
Produced under the banner of Dashami Creations, 'Saavi Ki Savaari' also stars Samridhi Shukla, Farman Haider, and Fenil Umrigar.
The show premiered on Colors TV. It also streams digitally on Voot.
