Zelensky Meets With Vučić - Respect For Un Charter In Focus


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the issue of the development of relations between the two countries and respect for the UN Charter.

The head of state announced this on telegram , Ukrinform reports.

"An open, honest, and fruitful meeting with the President of Serbia. Good conversation on respect for the UN Charter and the inviolability of borders. On our nations' shared future in the common European home. On developing our relations, that is in our mutual interest," Zelensky said.

At the same time, the presidential office reported that the parties noted mutual support of territorial integrity and sovereignty being an important part of the partnership between Ukraine and Serbia.

Zelensky briefed his counterpart on battlefield developments and the actions of the Ukrainian Army.

The leaders discussed the most important issues of regional security, bilateral relations, and prospects for their development.

Separately, the two presidents paid attention to common challenges on the path of Ukraine and Serbia to membership in the European Union.

Zelensky thanked his Serbian counterpart for the humanitarian aid that Serbia provides to the Ukrainian people, as well as for the support to Ukrainians who found refuge in this country from the war unleashed by the Russian Federation.

The president of Ukraine offered the Serbian side to support the Ukrainian Peace Formula and to participate in the third summit of the international Crimea Platform on August 23.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Greece on a visit the night before. The city is hosting a summit of Balkan leaders.
