'Powerful explosion' heard over Moscow drone assault

(MENAFN) A flashy blast was overheard close to Moscow’s Expo center on Friday morning in the newest Ukrainian drone assault on the town.

Russia stated the assault happened at around 4am and that its air defenses had effectively shot down the unidentified jet.

Wreckage fell on the Expo Centre, Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated on his formal channel on Telegram.

The Expo Centre is a huge space utilized for enormous exhibitions, less than 5KM apart from the Kremlin.

A news agency reporter in the region stated he overheard a "powerful explosion" in the business region part close to the center.

A footage issued by Russian press sources displayed thick fume mounting next to skyscrapers.
The Russian defense ministry stated that Ukraine was the one who planned the drone assault.

Russia has fired thousands of drones at Ukrainian towns, power substructure as well as army locations since its February 22 attack. But Ukraine has, in new months, industrialized its own long-range assault drones for revenge.
