(MENAFN- UkrinForm) About 30 combat engagements have been recorded in the past day: the enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, heavy fighting is ongoing. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“In the past day, the Russian occupiers launched 30 air strikes and 47 MLRS attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are killed and wounded, residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged,” the report says.
The aircraft of the Defense Forces launched one strike targeting an enemy manpower cluster over the past day. Units of the Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery hit two areas of concentration of enemy manpower, weapons and military equipment, two artillery units in firing positions and two EW stations.
The General Staff warned that the probability of further enemy missile attacks and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
In the Lyman direction, the Russian forces conducted assault operations and tried to dislodge the Defense Forces from their positions in the area west of Spirne, Donetsk region, but they had no success. The enemy used aircraft to attack the districts of Novosadove, Ivanivka, Serebrianka Forestry and Spirne of Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under Russian artillery fire, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, Torske, Spirne, Berestove and Vesele in Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, under heavy fire from the enemy's aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks in the area of Dubovo-Vasylivka of Donetsk region. The Russians launched air strikes on the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne and Pivnichne. More than 10 settlements were subjected to enemy artillery shelling in the indicated direction, including Markove, Bohdanivka, Khromove, and Ivanivske of Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the area of Avdiivka. More than 15 settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including Keramik, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Vodiane and Karlivka of Donetsk region.
In the Marinka direction, under the fire of Russian artillery, Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks in the area of Marinka. The enemy launched air strikes on the district of Krasnohorivka, as well as shelled more than 15 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Heorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Yelyzavetivka, and Katerynivka in Donetsk region.
As earlier reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have already eliminated more than 234,000 Russian invaders.
