San Marino FM Hails Ties With Jordan

Amman, June 20 (Petra) -- San Marino Foreign Minister Luca Beccari on Tuesday praised relations with Jordan in various fields and said his country is keen on further cementing cooperation.
Beccari noted during a meeting with San Marino Honorary Consul in Amman Samer Kawar the importance of the Aqaba Meetings, an initiative by His Majesty King Abdullah to maintain international and regional cooperation in the fight against terrorism, and Jordan's key role in combating terrorism and extremism, the Consolate said in a statement.
Beccari said it is important that Jordan and San Marino work together to consolidate the principles of pluralism, diversity and tolerance within societies.
He also stressed the need for global partnerships to work for the public interest and freedom of religions, and to highlight dialogue and acceptance of the others in today's societies emanating from King Abdullah's firm belief in human rights, justice and freedom.
Beccari commended the efforts of the Honorary Consul in boosting relations between the two countries, urging further expansion of cooperation in economic, tourism and cultural fields, building on successes and benefiting from the opportunities available between the two countries.
