One-third of German men believes it’s acceptable to use violence against women

(MENAFN) A gender equality group in Germany has depicted as “shocking” the outcomes of the latest poll which discovered that almost 33 percent of men in that nation deem it “acceptable” to physically hit a female partner throughout an intense quarrel.

A countrywide survey of 1,000 men and 1,000 women in the European Union nation, issued previous week by children’s charity Plan International Germany, displayed that 33 percent of men from the age of 18 and 35 believe it’s okay to use violence throughout a confrontation with a woman.

Another 34 percent of respondents confessed to having been aggressive towards a woman before.

Karsten Kassner, a gender-equality supporter with the group Federal Forum Men, stated that the outcomes of the survey are “shocking” and proposed that it indicates that aggression by young men towards women is being regularized.
