US President, UK Prime Minister Vow To Continue Supporting Ukraine

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) The White House announced that United States President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met in Washington on Thursday and affirmed their continued support for Ukraine.
According to the statement, the two sides stressed to continue providing financial and military aid for Kyiv as fighting escalated in Ukraine in the recent past.
During the visit, the two sides discussed stocks of issues including strengthening energy security, relations between the two countries and addressing the climate crisis.
Mr. Sunak, who made his first visit as prime minister to Washington and is intent on establishing a post-Brexit Britain as a competent and reliable global player.
Rishi Sunak and President Biden pledged to support Kyiv for years to come and said that he hopes the US and Britain will send a“strong message” to Russia about supporting Ukraine.
This commitment comes even as both Sunak and Biden face economic challenges and domestic concerns about the length of the war.
Previously, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky had said,“To resume counteroffensives and retake control of the occupied territories from Russian forces, he waits for more military equipment from his Western allies.”
In his remarks, Prime Minister Sunak said perhaps Vladimir Putin of Russia has wrongly assumed that the West would tire of providing support,“We will be here as long as it takes.”
