(MENAFN- Gulf Times) His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and the President of the friendly Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held an official talks session on Wednesday at the Akorda Presidential Palace in Astana.
At the outset of the session, President Tokayev expressed his warm welcome to His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation, appreciating His Highness the Amir's acceptance of the invitation to participate in the Astana International Forum. Tokayev also expressed his aspiration to strengthen cooperation relations between the two friendly countries at all levels, considering Qatar one of Kazakhstan's most important partners in the Middle East, while pointing to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which coincides with this year.
For his part, His Highness the Amir expressed his sincere thanks to the President for the warm reception, noting that this is his third visit to Kazakhstan through which he looks forward to advancing friendship and cooperation relations to broader horizons in light of the enormous potentials and opportunities of the two countries in various fields to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples.
The talks also dealt with developing and strengthening cooperation relations, in addition to exchanging views on the most important regional and international developments of common concern.
The official talks session was attended by HE the Chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Amir.
On the Kazakh side, it was attended by the Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Timur Suleimenov, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration of Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, and a number of senior officials.
President Tokayev held a dinner banquet on honor of His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation.
