Qazvin Province's Exports Increase by 16 Percent in 1401

(MENAFN) Azizollah Afzali, the head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Department in Qazvin province, Iran, has reported that the value of exports from the province increased by 16 percent in the past Iranian calendar year 1401, which ended on March 20. He announced that 1.014 tons of products worth USD648 million were exported, with a 12 percent increase in weight compared to the previous year.

Afzali identified rolled plastic and nylons, detergents, foods (including semi-prepared French fries, paste, vinegar, pasta), ceramics and tiles, cables and copper wires, petroleum derivatives (including industrial oils and paraffin), glass, resin, carpet, raisins, and evaporative coolers as the major products exported from Qazvin province in the past year.

The official highlighted that Qazvin province, with an area of 15,595 square kilometers and a population of over 1.3 million people, is located in the northwest of Iran. Due to its special geographical location and transportation highways to the north, south, east, and west, it has many advantages for industrial growth and development. Additionally, Qazvin is less than 150 kilometers from Tehran and has a proper amount of electricity with the Shahid Rajaei power plant, which has a 2,000 megawatt generation capacity. Its long industrial history and skilled manpower also contribute to its potential for growth.

According to the spokesman of the Trade Development Committee of the Iranian House of Industry, Mining, and Trade, the value of Iran's non-oil export rose by 10 percent in the past year. This growth is indicative of the potential for economic development and expansion in Iran, with provinces like Qazvin contributing to the country's exports. As Iran continues to strengthen its trade relationships with other countries, it is likely that the non-oil export sector will further contribute to the country's economic growth.
