Rj grew up in a family of artists. Her grandmother Li Lanying is one of China's best and earliest stage photographers in her time with many works in almost all of China's major theater dancing performances. Rj's dad is also one of the most prominent commercial producers in China, having produced major national tv commercials for over 30 years. They both had a heavy influence on the young Ruijia.
She started with helping her dad on commercial productions and finally decided to go to Hollywood to study the craft more professionally and chose to stay in the industry and put her mark at the movie capital of the world.
After graduation, she produced over 50 short films, feature films and commercials. Her latest film“Hide”, had just finished post-production and is currently in the film festival circuit.
“Hide” follows the story of a 14-year-old marginalized teenager living in a remote town who becomes manipulated and coerced by a mysterious, disfigured old man. The old man bears a heavy history of hate and vengeance, and gradually transforms the teenager into a sociopath, becoming a tumor to society. The teenager is forced to face the consequences of his actions and confront the trauma that led him down this dark path.
Ruijia, serving as the producer of this film. She is the woman-in-charge of the films, working from development all the way to film festival runs. She utilizes her exceptional creative thinking and tireless work ethics to ensure that the film becomes the best version that there is. Using her unmatched skills of negotiating, she managed to put in major set pieces in an independently produced film. She is irreplaceable to the film.
