And now, the credit union is proud to announce the opening of its latest branch in Shenandoah, Iowa. With over 21 locations, Community 1st Credit Union is dedicated to helping its members achieve their financial goals in life. And now, the credit union is proud to announce the opening of its latest branch in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Plans to create a new location began when HomeTown Credit Union merged with Community 1st Credit Union on March 7th, 2022. Originally established in 1978, HomeTown Credit Union had over 800 members and nearly $3 million in assets. It had one location at 301 Maple Street.
The merger opened up new opportunities to reach out to new clients and offer them high-quality financial services. To celebrate the construction of the new location, C1st held a groundbreaking ceremony on May 17th on 3.65 acres of land.
The Shenandoah branch opened its doors last March 23rd, 2023, with five offices, a conference room that can host 10 people, a spacious lobby, an ATM, and multiple drive-thru lanes. Situated on 700 S. Freemont St., Shenandoah, IA., the new 3800-square-foot facility has numerous amenities to best serve Community 1st Credit Union members and the local community.
