Qatar Commended for Maintaining Ramadan Culture through Festivities, Events


(MENAFN) Qatar has been commended by the public for its initiatives in maintaining the culture of Ramadan through a selection of activities and events held throughout the country. The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, planned 23 programs at the beginning of Ramadan, including sports, educational seminars, and art workshops. The festivities serve as proof that the country preserves and promotes its traditions, according to Muhammad from Sudan.

Lusail Boulevard, a popular attraction during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, is also hosting a variety of events during Ramadan. These include a car show or parade before Iftar, Ramadan tents, food options, and a Ramadan cannon. The car parade is being held daily from 3:30 pm, featuring sports and vintage cars in collaboration with Mawater Motors Qatar. Razania, an expat who visited Lusail Boulevard, praised the area's vivid decorations and variety of food options, describing this year's Ramadan as unique.

The old traditional market, Souq Waqif, is also no stranger to cultural heritage. Even before the Ramadan cannon in Al Ahmad Square is fired, a large number of people, both residents and visitors, have been visiting the marketplace. Souq Waqif has stayed loyal to its goal of conserving not only Qatari traditions but also age-old Ramadan customs and traditions, said Ali from the United Kingdom.

These initiatives by the government and private organizations have been praised by the public for maintaining the culture of Ramadan. Ajish, an Indian expat, said that his family visits Katara at least twice a month because his children enjoy coming there, and it is impressive to see how the village preserves not just Qatar's cultural legacy but also that of other countries. Meanwhile, Lusail Boulevard's events and activities during Ramadan have impressed visitors, reflecting the community's cohesiveness and affection during the holy month.
