Students and teachers of the DCSN will wear colorful socks as well as blue and yellow clothes, the colors that are the international symbol of the campaign, and activities will be held outdoors and in the library under the coordination of hoeppler . Interactive readings will be held to explain some behaviors and tear down prejudices.

The professor says the date is a moment for dialogue and clarification.“The victories achieved by a child with deficiency were accomplished because a parent, a friend or a teacher dedicated their time and love to them. It was no different for me! Each page I write, each day in the classroom, is a struggle for their inclusion in the society,” she said.

For over 20 years Hoeppler has devoted herself to guiding children with Down syndrome, autism and other deficiencies. She lives in the Middle East with her husband and son, works at the DCSN and is the founder of the Dubai Down Syndrome Center (DDSC). She's also the author of“ My Name is Ali. What Is Your Name? ” launched in 2020 in Dubai, and most recently, last February, she released in Brazil the book “Meu nome é Miguel, qual é o seu ?” [My name is Miguel, what's yours?]” by publishing house Interseção Design de Histórias.
