India Records Over 1,071 Covid-19 Infections In One Day, Active Cases 5,915

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) India experienced its first daily surge of over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases in 129 days, while active cases rose to 5,915.

1,071 new cases were recorded throughout the country over 24 hours, and three more deaths-one in Rajasthan and Maharashtra and one that was reconciled in Kerala-brought the death toll up to 5, 30,802.

According to the ministry of health and family welfare, there are 4.46 crore infections.

While 1,071 new infections were reported on Saturday, the most significant number in 129 days, there was a considerable increase in Covid cases recorded in a single day.

According to officials, the Delhi government ordered hospitals and labs to increase testing in response to the increase in cases in the city to ensure early diagnosis of Covid-19 infections.

Health experts countered that there was no need for concern because most patients were not experiencing severe symptoms, and the spike was still minimal relative to the city's population.

However, the COVID-19 vaccination was first administered in India on January 16, 2021. India had provided more than 2.2 billion doses of all currently licensed vaccines as of March 4 2023, including the first, second, and booster doses, according to the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
