The workshop aims to enable participants to grow their own fresh produce at home, aligning with the increasing trend towards sustainable living and self-sufficiency.

In areas where access to fresh produce is limited, 'Gharsa' becomes a crucial initiative as it equips individuals with the tools and knowledge required to grow their own fruits, vegetables, and herbs, even in small spaces.

The conference started with an introduction to Gharsa's initiative to increase the green area and enhance food security in Qatar. Other topics discussed ranged from empowering women to raise bees to applications of urban agriculture and recycling.

The 10th edition of AgriteQ features over 104 local farms, making it the largest gathering of local farmers in the history of the exhibition.

In addition to fresh produce and vegetables, local farms are also showcasing a wide variety of highest-quality local honey and dates for the public to purchase.

This significant increase in the number of local farms participating in AgriteQ highlights the growing interest and importance of the agriculture sector in Qatar. The event provided local farmers with an opportunity to showcase their products, exchange knowledge, and network with other industry players, creating a platform for collaboration and innovation.

Their participation, in addition to the growing number of visitors from the public, promotes Qatar's goal of achieving self-sufficiency in food production, reducing the country's dependence on imports, and ensuring food security for its population.

Several company directors and farm owners have revealed their preparations for the holy month of Ramadan, by supplying quantities of local seasonal vegetables to achieve self-sufficiency for the markets during the blessed month. They emphasised their efforts to maintain daily production to meet the needs of the market.

The government's initiatives to support local farmers, such as providing subsidies, training, and modern farming equipment, have encouraged more farmers to enter the sector and improve the quality and quantity of their produce.

The 10th edition of Agriteq featured exceptional participation from Mazzraty, where a huge number of people flocked to the pavilion to explore the latest advancements in farming technology and high-quality produce.

The pavilion included a wide range of products, including fresh whole chicken, fresh chicken wings, necks, thighs, whole legs, tenderloin, gizzards, hearts, livers, feet, drumsticks, breast fillet, mixed parts, fresh chicken minced meat and Chicken shish tawook.

Saad Al Mana, the executive board member of the National Group for Agriculture and Animal Products, said that their products meet the highest quality standards without any chemicals or antibiotics and they are processed using state-of-the-art technology.

During AgriteQ's 10th edition, the company's representative emphasised that their participation this year is outstanding due to their excellent reputation in the local market, earned through the quality of their products that have gained consumers' trust among citizens and residents.
