1967 -- Arab Towns Organization established its headquarters in Kuwait. The pan-Arab NGO is specialized in affairs of towns, cities and municipalities.
1974 -- Kuwait Television began colored telecast on the PAL system. The launch of the color screen coincided with the Gulf Football Cup, which was held in Kuwait.
1983 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a decree on Kuwait membership to a treaty establishing the Arab Organization of Industrial Development, initially signed in Tunisia on May 15, 1979.
1994 -- Kuwait exempted citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries from filling in border admission cards.
1997 -- Kuwait Educational elite Saleh Abdulmalek Al-Saleh died at the age of 76.
2004 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a decree to pave way for joining two protocols over child involvement in armed conflicts and child abuse in prostitution.
2012 -- Kuwait closed its embassy in Damascus and told diplomats to leave Syria due to deterioration security conditions.
2014 -- A Kuwaiti medical team at Zain hospital succeeded in detaching the trachea and the esophagus of a three-month-old child, the first-of-a-kind surgery in the Middle East.
2016 -- Kuwait National Assembly approved a bill granting Kuwaiti citizens who were 65 years old, a senior citizen card, which regulate their health care, a monthly allowance, an allowance for a domestic helper or nurse and exempting them from public transportation fees.
2018 -- Kuwait surgeon Khaled Al-Sabti carried out a surgery on a retina of a Russian patient at the eye center in Saint Petersburg.
2018 -- Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) signed a USD 79.7 million contract with Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Company to build a giant crude oil tanker.
2022 -- Kuwait national team won the World Shooting Trap Championship that was held in Cyprus. (end) bs
