(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Commander of Ukraine's Air Force Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk discussed with General James Hacker, Commander of the U.S. Air Force in Europe and Africa, the strengthening of the capabilities of the Ukrainian air defense capabilities in the context of the possible transfer of F-16 aircraft. That's according to the air force press service, Ukrinform reports.
'I recently had a phone call with the commander of the U.S. Air Force in Europe and Africa, General James Hacker. We talked about the 365 days of the battle for Ukrainian skies, the current situation at the front, and specific issues of Ukraine's air defenses,' Oleschuk noted.
The two commanders also discussed prospective areas of bilateral cooperation regarding the supply of military equipment, weapons, and ammunition within the framework of international technical assistance to Ukraine, in particular strengthening the capabilities of the Ukrainian air defense system.
The Commander thanked General Hecker, the leadership and people of the United States for their consistent support of Ukraine.
