In a statement Tuesday, the Social Affairs Ministry said that Al-Baghli left for Turkiye via the Kuwait Air Force plane, accompanied by the Turkish Ambassador to Kuwait Tuba Sonmez, as a continuation of the ministry's follow up on the relief operations launched by Kuwait over the earthquake in Syria and Turkiye, under the directives of the political leadership and the instructions of the cabinet.
Kuwait, under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, established an air bridge to send urgent aid and medical staff to Turkiye, with the participation of the Foreign Ministry, Kuwait Fire Force, Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Kuwaiti army.
The Fire Force contributed to the air bridge by taking the initiative to deal with the effects of the earthquake and involving themselves in the search and rescue operations for the victims, the injured and the afflicted through a team equipped with equipment and specialized people, in addition to providing the necessary assistance with the participation of the Kuwaiti search and rescue team.
MoH and KRCS are also partaking in providing medical, pharmaceutical support and the necessary urgent health care, at a time when Kuwaiti charities continue their relief work, a week after the earthquake that killed thousands of people while destroying buildings and facilities in Syria and Turkiye.
