Senate President Receives Arab Peace Group Delegation

AMMAN - Senate President Faisal Fayez stressed the importance of exerting all efforts to solve political disputes among Arab countries through dialogue in order to realise development, and address poverty and unemployment through
pan-Arab economic integration.

Receiving a delegation from the Arab Peace Group, headed by former Yemeni president Ali Nasser Mohammed, Fayez said that the current situation in the Arab world is in dire need of increased efforts, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Nasser said that the establishment of the group came at during unprecedented waves of domestic and pan-Arab conflicts that deplete human potential, resources and military aptitude, making such countries 'easy prey for poverty, ignorance and underdevelopment'. He also expressed appreciation for Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, for its continued efforts to bridge the pan-Arab gap.
