Hungary PM: West Becomes Part Of Ukraine War

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) VIENNA, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated Friday that Western countries have become part of the Russia-Ukraine war through their continued military and financial support for Kyiv.
'If you send weapons and finance the full-year's budget of one of the warring parties and you mull sending more arms, ever more modern ones, then you can say what you want, you're part of the war,' Orban told the state Radio.
'It started with the Germans saying they were willing to send helmets. Now, we're at battle tanks, and they're already talking about planes.'
The United States, Germany, Poland and UK have recently announced plans to supply Ukrainian forces with battle tanks.
He affirmed that his country would not be dragged into the war.
'It is in Hungary's interest to stay out of the war,' Orban said, adding that his country's security comes first and Hungary 'is not in war with anyone.'
The Hungarian Premier stressed that his government and people had chosen peace.
'We want ceasefire and peace talks,' he said. (end)
