Russian delegation was denied entry

(MENAFN) According to a member of the Russian delegation, Russian officials will not attend the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) fall summit in Warsaw next week since Poland denied their visas.

“We received an outrageous response from the head of the Polish delegation to the OSCE parliamentary assembly,” Vladimir Dzhabarov, first deputy chair of the Russian Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, stated in parliament, as per Russia’s TASS news agency.

The Polish envoy, Barbara Bartus, "literally said that she does not see any possibility" of allowing Russian or Belarusian delegates to participate in the assembly because doing so would "violate the principle of solidarity with Ukraine," Dzhabarov continued, adding that he anticipates similar issues when the OSCE meets again in February in Austria and in July in Canada.

Russia will also be denied visas to attend a separate OSCE ministerial meeting in Lodz in December, Poland's foreign ministry said on Friday. "We are not providing them visas," said spokesman Lukasz Jasina. Jasina specifically mentioned Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, stating Poland was "not expecting" him to come.
