Mandarin Oriental Doha Helps Qatar Cancer Society

Doha: To honour the month of October in support of Breast Cancer awareness, Mandarin Oriental, Doha made a donation to Qatar Cancer Society for the third consecutive year.
The contribution follows a pledge made to donate a portion of proceeds from each afternoon tea sold in October 2022 dedicated to breast cancer research and treatments in Qatar.
Mandarin Oriental, Doha is well re cognised for delivering service excellence and is committed to operate in a responsible and sustainable way.
As a supporter of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Mandarin Oriental, Doha seeks to contribute to the communities in which it operates and responsibly managing its environmental impact and social commitment. On previous occasions also partnering with Qatar Cancer Society since 2020 with various contributions and donations.
“The objective of this initiative stems from our aspiration to solidify our commitment of contributing and supporting our local communities.” said Martin Schnider, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Doha.“Acting with Responsibility is one of our guiding principles and we seek to deliver our mission in a manner that is viable, equitable and in harmony with our natural systems believing that our continued success can only be achieved if we take care of our people and planet,” he added.
Mona Ashkanani - General Manger of Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) - appreciated the efforts of Mandarin Oriental, Doha in the field of charitable and humanitarian work, especially in the health sector, and the support of QCS's awareness activities.
She expressed her gratitude for the generous donation that will contribute to achieving its mission of cancer prevention and curbing the burden of cancer by working with partners to educate the community and support, empower and advocate for people living with cancer and engaging in development and scientific research in the field.
