Leading White House official travels to Kiev

(MENAFN) On Friday, United States National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev to review the specifics of the most recent security package and to reiterate Washington's support for the nation's military services.

According to National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson, Sullivan spoke with Zelensky and other senior officials to "underscore the United States’ steadfast support to Ukraine and its people as they defend their Sovereignty and territorial integrity." This previously unannounced trip was confirmed by Watson.

“We fully intend to ensure that the resources are there as necessary and that we'll get votes from both sides of the isle to make that happen,” Sullivan informed reporters in Kiev, noting “There will be no wavering, no flagging, no flinching of our support as we go forward.”

A USD400 million fresh wave of military assistance for Ukraine was also described by the national security advisor. He claimed it is going to include "refurbished" T-72 tanks, drones, and "refurbishment of HAWK surface to air missiles for eventual transfer to Ukraine."
