In Nablus, tens of thousands commemorate deaths of six Palestinian martyrs

(MENAFN) Tens of thousands of Palestinians have come onto the streets of Nablus, north of the occupied West Bank, to attend the burial of six of their compatriots murdered by Israeli troops earlier on Tuesday in a rare military attack in recent years.

During the parade, mourners waved the Palestinian flag and black placards, denouncing Israeli deaths and brutality.

Wadi al-Houh, 31, Hamdi Sharaf, 35, Ali Antar, 26, Hamdi Qayyim, 30, and Mishaal Zahi Baghdadi, 27, were all murdered in the Israeli attack, which also injured 20 others.

Meanwhile, Qusai Tamimi, 19, was slain by troops during protests against the army attack on Nablus in Nabi Saleh hamlet, north of Ramallah. He was put to rest in his hometown.

According to Palestinian accounts, Israeli occupation soldiers assaulted the city of Nablus, backed by large military reinforcements, while wildly opening fire on residents.

After Israeli soldiers raided the Old City of Nablus in the early hours of Tuesday, hunting for members of the Lions' Den resistance organization, "sounds of gunshots and explosions were heard and columns of smoke and flames were observed emerging from many districts," according to Wafa news agency.
