(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Shabwa, October 20, 2022, SPA -- The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY) has laid the cornerstone of a project to establish a school in the Nisab district of Shabwa governorate, under the supervision of SDRPY, in the presence of local senior officials, and SDRPY representatives.
The project consists of building and equipping a model school of 12 classrooms with utilities, to support teaching and learning opportunities in Shabwa Governorate, and to provide opportunities for quality education and the acquisition of scientific skills.
SDRPY supports the education sector in Yemen through 52 development projects and initiatives, which include the establishment of 23 model schools and centers for the talented.
SDRPY projects and initiatives have contributed to providing educational opportunities for male and female students, providing an integrated and stimulating educational environment, contributing to comprehensive and safe access to education, increasing enrollment opportunities for male and female students, supporting extra-curricular activities, and activating innovation and creativity.
SDRPY has implemented as many as 224 development projects and initiatives in various Yemeni governorates to serve Yemenis in seven main sectors: education, health, water, energy, transport, agriculture and fishery and building the capacity of government institutions and development programs.
