Rio Tinto Group (NYSE:RIO ) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with steel producer Shougang Group to 'promote research, design and implementation of low-carbon solutions for the steel value chain.' Alf Barrios, Rio Tinto's Chief Commercial Officer, commented:
'Steel is a vital material for economic growth and low-carbon infrastructure. At Rio Tinto, we want to play a strong role as an industry partner to support the decarbonisation of steel. We are delighted to be able to extend our partnership with Shougang to jointly work towards our shared vision of a 'greener' steel value chain.'
Baselode Energy Corp. (TSXV:FIND ) has reported that the geochemical assay results from drill hole AK22-069 of 0.90 percent U3O8 (Triuranium octoxide) over 31.0 m starting at 69.3 m true vertical depth, making it 'the latest and best hole to date from the now-complete 22,500 metre diamond drill program on the ACKIO high-grade uranium discovery, Hook project, Athabasca Basin area, northern Saskatchewan, Canada. James Sykes, CEO, President and Director of Baselode, said:
'These results demonstrate the exciting potential at ACKIO for the possible development of a near-surface, high-grade uranium open pit mining scenario. We look forward to continuing drilling this zone with our next ACKIO drill program in 2023.'
StrategX Elements Corp. (CSE:STGX ) has partnered with Vital Drilling Services for the provision of diamond drilling services for several projects on the Melville Peninsula in Canada's Nunavut territory, and has announced 'the arrival of a drill rig to commence the first phase 2,000 metre diamond drill program on Project Nagvaak.' According to the press release, the company's team has been 'active with various exploration activities including defining drill targets, reviewing historical data,' and 'integrating them with newly acquired field data.'
Satori Resources Inc. (TSXV:BUD ) has announced the start of its fall drilling campaign at the Tartan Lake Project in Flin Flon, Manitoba, Canada. The company has plans to test the Hanging Wall Zone (in Main Zone) to extend its significant mineralization, and to follow up on the most significant intersection reported from the South Zone. Satori's CEO Jennifer Boyle said:
'This fully funded program is designed to expand the newly identified mineralization in the Main Zone hanging wall and the South Zone. Recent drilling over the past year and a half has evidenced the tremendous potential for this project which has been long overlooked throughout the past three decades.'
