Turkey’s daily electricity usage drops by 3.7 percent on Sept. 17


(MENAFN) Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) data released on Sunday shows that the nation’s daily electricity usage declined by 3.7 percent on Saturday in comparison to the day before, standing at 896,184 megawatts per hours.

Data from TEIAS revealed that the peak hourly power usage was 41,820 megawatts per hours at 03:00 regional time (1200 GMT). At 7:00 a.m. regional time, the nation's power consumption reached its lowest point of 30,659 megawatts per hours (0400 GMT).

On Saturday, 882,508 megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, a 3.9 percent reduction from the previous day.

Natural gas power factories comprised by 27.6 percent of the entire amount of electricity, while lignite power factories and imported coal constituted by 22.9 percent and 14.8 percent, correspondingly, to the total.

The nation's electrical exports on Saturday were 10,935 megawatts per hours, while its imports were 24,611 megawatts per hours.
