BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Azerbaijani
Finance Minister Samir Sharifov met with Vice-President of the
Asian Development Bank (ADB) Shixin Chen, Trend reports via the
ministry.
According to the ministry, the parties discussed the strategy of
cooperation between Azerbaijan and ADB for 2024-2028, planned to be
prepared in 2023.
At the meeting, the progress of joint projects, including ADB's
support for the macroeconomic stability of Azerbaijan, efficiency
improvement in the public sector, financing in connection with the
Southern Gas Corridor, and reconstruction of part of the
North-South Transport Corridor were also discussed.
'During the meeting, Chen stressed that ADB is a reliable
partner of Azerbaijan in improving the efficiency of the public
sector in the country, strengthening the development of the private
sector, diversifying the non-oil sector by investing in transport
and irrigation infrastructure, strengthening human capital to meet
the needs of a diversified economy,” the ministry said.
The vice-president stressed the joint implementation of projects
between ADB and Azerbaijan, expressing confidence that these
projects will be successfully continued.
