Indian politician murdered at Kerala home


(MENAFN) A CPI(M) local committee member was hacked till he was dead, on the words of the officials on Sunday.

The dead, known as Shajahan, was murdered at around 9.15 PM near his house last night in Marutharode, Palakkad.

As shown in initial reports by police, Shajahan was invaded by a group of five to eight people.

"A group of eight people reached and attacked Shajahan near his house yesterday night," according to police.

The police also underlined the possibility of a political rivalry in the case.

"He was accused in a political murder case and we suspect this too is a part of political rivalry," the police also said.

Extra investigations are ongoing.

Earlier on April 19, three people were detained in connection with the assassination of a Popular Front of India (PFI) leader Subair, who was hacked to death in front of his father in Kerala's Palakkad district said to the police.
