UK pro-Palestine campaigners call on government to impose sanctions against Israel

(MENAFN) The Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Friends of Al-Aqsa, and Stop the War Coalition, three London-based human rights organizations, have joined forces to urge the British government to stop backing Israel in its aggression against the Palestinians.

The most intense Israeli shelling of Gaza since the conflict in May 2021, which resulted in the deaths of 260 Palestinians and the destruction of thousands of homes and businesses, has just ended. At least 47 Palestinians were killed as a result of this latest attack. Children made up one-third of those slain.

To speak out against the injustice, participants in the protest outside Downing Street, the British prime minister's official house, had to be there.

The idea that Israeli aggression is only feasible with the covert cooperation of nations like Britain is one of the key themes connecting the speakers at this event. British hands are still covered with Palestinian blood.

Despite claims that a ceasefire is currently in effect, observers note that this simply means Israel has expanded the scope of its aggressive campaign to other areas of occupied Palestine, including Nablus, where there have already been casualties. This raises the possibility of an escalation that results in additional Palestinian bloodshed.
