Protesters who were camped near Temple Trees at a site they named 'No Deal Gama', withdrew from the area today.

The protesters said that they had decided to temporarily suspend their protest after over 90 days at the location.

However, they said they will continue to agitate and ensure the public get the chance to select their representatives to Parliament.

They also noted that their protests helped remove President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The protest site was initially named 'Maina Go Gama' and was part of a campaign to remove Mahinda Rajapaksa from the Prime Minister post.

Following his resignation and the appointment of Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister, the protest site was named 'No Deal Gama'.

The protesters today removed their tents as they withdrew from the location. (Colombo Gazette)
