In addition to them, the ICCIA's advisor to the secretary-general, Sherif Mahsoub; and, from the ABCC, secretary-general Tamer Mansour, director of Institutional Relations Fernanda Baltazar, and Institutional Relations analyst Elaine Prates also participated in the meeting.
Khalawi and Chohfi stressed the importance of investing in the industrialization of halal products and seeking partnerships and cooperation in the sector.
At the occasion, Brazil's potential for different halal markets was highlighted by the secretary-general of the ICCIA. Khalawi pointed out the beauty and cosmetics sector as a promising area for Brazilians to focus. For him, the country can benefit from the sound image it already has in the Arab countries and increase its share with halal and value-added products.
Khalawi also mentioned tourism as a favorable sector. The executive believes in addition to halal, Brazil could also invest in boosting 'family-friendly' tourism. Especially now, after two years of the pandemic, the secretary-general sees a greater demand from Gulf families for suitable tourism destinations. In this sense, Mansour signaled the ABCC's focus on sector events and providing training in Brazil.
