Amman, June 29 (Petra) - Albania's former foreign minister, Ditmir Bushati, presented his country's experience in promoting investment and attracting investors from various sectors and nations.
This came at a consultative session held by Senate's Finance and Economic Committee, headed by Jamal Sarayrah, on Wednesday, with Parliament members on the principles of effective investment policy, in cooperation with the American Democratic Institute (NDI), prior to the upcoming parliamentary debate of the new investment law.
Bushati pointed to Albania's success, which is close to join the European Union, in attracting and maintaining investment by providing a 'stable' work environment, controlling spending and improving regional cooperation.
Investing in infrastructure, creating a productive workforce, launching vocational sectoral training, reforming the educational system and establishing a fair tax system also contributed to Albania's investment achievements, he added.
In addition, Bushati said his country facilitated procedures by establishing Albania's National Single Window (NSW), which works to enhance the government's contact and cooperation with the business sector.
He reviewed Albania's investment policies, which are based on the state's capabilities, natural resources and strategic location, adding that his country's legislation stimulates investment, business climate, and market access.
Bushati served as Albania's Minister of Foreign Affairs during the 2013-2017 period, during which his country made significant progress in its investment policy.
