The Chairman of the Boralesgamuwa Urban Council has been arrested over the 9th May incident.
The Police said that he was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
A mob had launched an attack on peaceful demonstrators at Galle Face and near Temple Trees after attending a meeting at Temple Trees with then Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Two Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarians, Sanath Nishantha and Milan Jayathilake, have already been arrested and remanded over the attack. (Colombo Gazette)
