Doha: Qatar Foundation is to host the second edition of an international conference that explores ways of transforming the way education is delivered in schools.

Bringing together founders, experts, and educators in the world of progressive education, the three-day Leading Educational Advancement through Progressive Schools (LEAPS) summit, which will be held online from May 16-18 will see participants share tried and tested methods of disrupting traditional education to help make schools future-proof through a series of interactive presentations, discussions, and workshops.

Hosted by Qatar Foundation's (QF) Pre-University Education (PUE), the conference will focus on three themes: Education Reimagined, the Power of Play, and Wellbeing.

Within these key areas, some of the topics that will be discussed will include examining the trials and successes of the last few years, during COVID-19; discussing new teaching practices, such as classroom shifts, parental engagement, and technology; prioritizing play within learning; and highlighting ways in which teachers, parents, students, and principals can better care for themselves – and their communities.

Keynote speeches will mark the start of each day, and speakers who are set to present include Mitchel Resnick, LEGO Papert Professor of Learning Research at the MIT Media Lab; Dr. Stuart Brown, Founder of the National Institute for Play; and Louka Parry, CEO and Founder of The Learning Future.

Qatar Foundation's innovative school Academyati has identified and is collaborating with some of the world's most progressive schools to share their proven methods for disrupting traditional education and making schools future-proof at this conference. Some of the progressive schools set to participate include: Real School Budapest, Hungary; Portfolio School, US; Liger Leadership Academy, Cambodia; and Anji Play, China.
