Turkey’s BIST 100 index rises on Wed.


(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index started at 2,528.24 points on Wednesday, increasing 9 points, or 0.36 percent, from the prior end.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 0.36 percent recording its highest closing of 2,519.24 points on Tuesday, with a daily exchange volume of 54 billion liras (USD3.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira trade rate dropped to 14.6620 at10.00 AM local time (07:00GMT), from 14.6710 at Tuesday's end.

The euro/lira trade rate increased to 15.8466 against 15.8250, whereas a British pound exchanged for 19.0823 liras, dropped from 19.1030 at the previous end.

Brent crude oil was traded for almost USD108.5 for each barrel at 10 AM local time, whereas the ounce cost of gold reached USD1,944.9.
