Chinese firm ready to invest in Afghan energy sector

KABUL (Pajhwok): A major Chinese firm has evinced a keen interest in making investments in Afghanistan's energy sector.

The China Power Company's representatives voiced readiness to invest in Afghanistan at a meeting with the minister of energy and water,

Minister Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour welcomed the Chinese company's willingness to invest in Afghanistan, the state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported.

Promising the provision of security across the country, the minister said the ground had been paved for any kind of investment.

Mullah Mansour called investment in energy production in Afghanistan a valuable step towards the development of the country.
